THE BRIEF

H.H. Smith were awarded the project to construct a formal lane swimming pool and associated changing village with DDA provision at Hyde Leisure Centre. The works included the modification and extension to the existing leisure pool. The 25m 6 lane pool with spectator seating and associated plant facilities link to and enhances the existing leisure facilities. The hard landscaping around the new pool was upgraded along with soft landscaping upgrades.

KEY POINTS

H.H. Smith were awarded the project following a competitive process. The brick constructed building sits aside the existing leisure pool which was to remain open throughout the works. Security and safety measures needed to be robust to ensure public protection. All deliveries, health & safety requirements, security, waste management and cleaning of the site was programmed, accommodated and managed on an ongoing basis throughout the duration of the works.
